My Happy Place

I have several happy places.

Some of which, are embarrassing to talk about. But others, I could drone on and on about. Some happy places are spiritual/emotional, we go to them mentally, or figuratively. For example, one of my good friends very cleverly describes a marching band competition as her happy place.  (Which also happens to be one of my places as well.)

Others are physical. We literally go there when we feel distraught or discouraged. As odd as this may sound, mine is my moldy un-finished basement.

In that place, I find musical instruments everywhere. Drums, guitars of all shapes and sizes, random little percussion instruments, a mic attached to a mixer (so fun), and to top it off, a little kazoo that I use to my heart's content. In that place, it's quiet and I feel peaceful. I can make music in ways that usually only I can appreciate. And even if going there causes my atrocious school grades to dwindle down to nothingness, I feel productive. I feel like I'm doing something good, something right.
So there it is, my happy place. What is yours?

SNOOOW! :D

Oh, snow. Thy beauty doth reign upon the earth this glorious season.

The blessings of snow:
-Snowmen
-Snowboarding
-Snow angels
-Snowball fights
-Sledding IN the snow
-Snowboarding
-Snowboarding
-Donuts IN the car IN the snow
-Snowboarding

As you can see clearly from the list (*see above), snow is a wonderful thing. So for all of you clumsy, miserable people- TOO BAD.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes!

I changed my layout and my blog music. I feel like it didn't serve justice to my personality...? When I was fourteen the layout worked, but I'm fifteen and a half- and this is me!
Amen.
I'm such a different person than I was a year ago. Or even a month ago. Or an hour ago! Wow. Just a thought :)

but pretty soon...everything's different."

And isn't it the truth?

She's just a big fat dummy head!

167

167 is the number of days until I'm 16.
167 is the number of days until I can drive.
167 is the number of days until I can go to the pool by myself.
167 is the number of days until I can date.
167 is the number of days until I will be treated with R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
167 is the number of days until my freedom.

Oy.

The Happiest Place on Earth

So last week, I got to go to the happiest place on earth with my best friends. What is better than that, might you ask?
Nothing.
Not even cheese.
Here is an example of one of the many times that I am laughing so hysterically that I am crying, snorting, and wheezing.
Then of course, a picture of the sexiest drum line playing down main street in the Disney Parade. MY drum line.
WESTLAKE DL FTW
And here they are yet again, being crazily attractive as ever. This is at the Red Rocks State Marching Band Competition in St George, Utah. The good new is we placed- the bad news is, we got 3rd place. I'm not going to say how I feel about that because that would ruin the spirit of my blog- BUT!, it was a lot of fun :)
Next year's show is going to be so insanely bombin, that I don't even care that we got third at State (because we got first at most of our competitions anyways).

Shakespeare? :(

The thing with high school is that, you start discovering "who you are". About sometime during 9th grade, I realized that I'm destined to be a band geek. Since elementary school, I strived so hard to be a drama freak. I love theater, I love to act. But unfortunately, the reality of things is that I can't be both. So while I'm still taking musical theater, I had to drop Drama 4 for marching band.

In 8th and 9th grade, I had the WONDERFUL opportunity to go to Cedar City, Utah and participate in the Utah Shakespearean Festival Competition. I absolutely loved it. And I got to enjoy it with my twin, Kaycee ;)
Here is me, Kelsie, Kaycee, and Riley enjoying Macbeth on a very cold night!
And just some Shakespeare humor :)
*sigh* I'll miss this.
BUT... being a band geek...
is pretty much the coolest thing since squirtable cheese.

1:38 AM

Here I am, unable to sleep.
Westlake Marching Thunder got 1st place :) I'm so glad we didn't tie for first again. I did horribly during the third movement though, and there were so many technical difficulties that it's ridiculous, but I'm proud of my band. We've been working really hard.

I got on the bus and started singing "We Are the Champions" as loud as I could. I'm still grinning :D but yes, awesome times my friends.

Have a great Saturday Sunday!
